Europe Street Pianos

Glasgow Piano City Tour:

There is a ' Pianos in Public Spaces ' initiative to create more opportunities for people to play. Some public pianos in Glasgow are named after artists who decorated them.

Piano name: Tampopo

Venue: Theatre Royal

Design: Handpainted cherry blossoms with turquoise base

Played: Mario Bro, Phantom of the Opera Overture

There were displays of opera gown outfits..... fitting to play Phantom of the Opera overture! and with some mischief Mario Bro.

Piano name: Floyd

Venue: Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

Design: White wooden finish piano

Played: Music Time Travel (interrupted)

Grateful to have a very appreciative old man listening to my playing. I was playing my self-arranged Music Time Travel and he didn't know when I'm stopping so that he could clap for me. In the end, he came over and chatted with me a little to show his appreciation before he rushed off for his bus!

Piano name: Libby

Venue: Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

Design: White wooden finish piano with pen drawings of Glasgow landscape

Played: Swan Lake, Claire De Lune

Piano Libby was temporarily placed in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for few days and I was lucky to play Swan Lake + Claire De Lune there! And I chanced upon Tom who's managing the street pianos for Glasgow Piano City! You can see the other piano Floyd in the background at the end of the video.

Piano name: Mac

Venue: The Project Cafe

Design: Simple classic wooden piano with a backdrop wooden carving of Glasgow landscape.

Played: Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Played "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" since the cafe was playing light jazz music from their playlist. Had a hot cuppa yummy chocolate before I played.

Piano name: Ming

Venue: The Lighthouse

Design: Landscape painting with lights dotting around the piano. Chinese inspired design.

Played: Music Time Travel (still perfecting)

On my way to perfecting my self-arranged Music Time Travel.
Andy was there to support me during his lunch break!

Piano name: Calisia

Piano Calisia is right in the centre of Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, steps away from information counter, gift shop and cafe.

Other Street Piano Venues:

United Square @ Aberdeen, Scotland

Music Time Travel (Partial) - Arranged by Audris Ho

It's a pity it's an incomplete video. At the end of it, a bystander was whistling along with my playing! Thank you bystander for staying around listening to my playing! I didn't even know someone was whistling along till I watched back this clip :)

Gauksmýri (North Iceland)

Music Time Travel (Partial) - Arranged by Audris Ho

Unglam moment for my feet! Barefooted because I was wearing slippers having my breakfast at the B&B and chanced upon this piano. Impromptu playing of piano had other guests staying on watching me play and danced along, clapped along, sang along.

Newcastle Railway Station (entrance)

Hedwig's Theme + River Flows in You - Arranged by Audris Ho

A high human traffic for this station. Many people walking in and out of the station but this video didn't capture it.
