Singapore Street Pianos

"Play It Forward" :

This is a Singapore public piano movement launched by three Singaporeans, wanting people to love playing music again.  Hundreds of neglected pianos are gathering dust in homes across Singapore right now. At the same time, there are some among us who cannot afford to own a piano or do not have access to this instrument. Large number of old pianos are being thrown away every year. Many people we know love to play the piano, but stopped doing so for various reasons.

Play It Forward collaborated with local artists and designers to transform old pianos into public art pieces, while remaining as functional instruments that are a joy to play on. For more information about them: https://playitforwardsg.org/

Reaching over 10 million people worldwide – more than 1,500 pianos have already been installed in 50 cities across the globe, from New York to London, bearing the simple instruction "Play Me, I’m Yours".
